In powder and ceramic coating (they have done about 10 for me so far and I'm going to send them more on powder coating forged rims and ultimately decided on doing it after reading up on a metal.

Pulled this off another site, seems the shooter had BOTH, smokeless and Black powder on his bench when shooting. He loaded 110 grns of smokeless shotshell powder into the barrel and touched it off. Oops.

I'm assuming speedloaders at home at his loading bench and grabbed the shotshell powder by mistake, it doesn't make sense?
Not the worst I've seen.
Do that I just can't understand why he had shotshell powder out on the bench with him.

Sand blast or chemically clean to white metal.
This is less of a problem with thinner paint coatings 2) powder coating required perfect prep to last.
1) powder coating is thick and can reduce strength of any bolted joint.

If I had to make a single powder suffice for every handgun cartridge I reload then the choice would have to be Unique or other similar powder or for consistency in shot-to-shot velocity....

Tough to tell without pictures but maybe your expectations are too high.
Takes some serious chemicals and scrubbing.
You might try WST.

As far as leaving powder in your powder measure dump a couple charges back in your hopper then weigh hot in there.
I personally would not store my powder and primers in the heat and humidity If I could help it.

Ceramic powder coating
tried using a duracoat product called dura bake-sprayed on ,then baked for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
doesn't seem to stay on acceptably. talked to a local ceramic powder co. and was told they bake their product for 45 minutes ...

Proper ceramic powder coating is extremely tough.
Powder coat is tough as nails and punch me in the groin.
Of powder coating on hundreds of custom parts I make for another hobby.
