Hey I train at home so I don't have an access to someone in a gym who would correct my technique, but I was wondering what leg kick would be more powerful. Would It be more powerful if I kick straight up into their thigh or if I bring the kick up then...

I always kick straight through because I feel I lose speed kicking downwards, and I prefer speed and stability over power. I'm not sure if it's actually a slower technique or if I just don't have it down to the point where it's equally as quick though...
