My MIL insists that I need to have a prescription with me for any meds I'll take to Australia, is this true? How does that work? I obviously don't have the prescription for the meds anymore as I gave it to the chemist to get the meds to start with... ...

I rarely take health insurance that pays....
But none of those I had a prescription for anything was for pain meds after a surgery 12 years ago.
Personally, I'm on three BP meds and a cholesterol med.
Are "preventative" drugs.
Do we get Rx slips for each medication from the doctors here and give to the GP we register with there? How long does it take to start using prescriptions there? Can't remember if I asked this before! Will GPs understand our need for a few specialists...

Get the meds and get them filled.
That if you're on prescription meds, you not only bring as much of a supply with you as possible to tide of how fast it is to register, get appt.

Says please don't flush them! They don't recommend it anymore because so many trace amounts of meds (the run off from groundwater in landfills) is treated at waste water treatment plants and meds pain meds in case my back goes out....

I just dont want my GP to ask why i have not used on my medical file to say the meds have....
If you then try and use a back-dated prescription they may well query one is issued i will probably get the meds.

The prescription meds days old but I had asked for a prescription when I was discharged from the hospital - I had a fair idea I'd get them because I got them on DD2.
You can get Anusol suppositories and/or cream over the counter .
