My MIL insists that I need to have a prescription with me for any meds I'll take to Australia, is this true? How does that work? I obviously don't have the prescription for the meds anymore as I gave it to the chemist to get the meds to start with...

The OP of that thread is 50 and takes none. She wonders if she's an anomaly. I will be 54 in less than a month and don't take anything either. But now that I think of it, most people in my peer group are on one or more meds.

I rarely take health insurance that pays....
But none of those I had a prescription for anything was for pain meds after a surgery 12 years ago.
Personally, I'm on three BP meds and a cholesterol med.
Are "preventative" drugs.

Do we get Rx slips for each medication from the doctors here and give to the GP we register with there? How long does it take to start using prescriptions there?
Can't remember if I asked this before! Will GPs understand our need for a few specialists...
