I'm currently working on creating a private messaging system, (PHP/MySQL) in which users can send message to multiple recipients at one time, and those users can then decide to reply.
Here's what I'm currently working with:

But if you wanted threaded messages, you'd have to add another key, like this:
private_messages - title in a cookie; also affecting whether you really need the "read" field).

Adds functions for sending messages to people within FluxBB.
This mod is based on a French mod, Another Private Messaging System, which is based on Private Messaging System (:P).

Also in the file AP_Private_messaging.php
define('PLUGIN_URL', 'admin_loader.php?plugin=AP_Private_Messaging.php');
needs to be changed to
define('PLUGIN_URL', 'admin_loader.php?plugin=AP_Private....
The translations needed some updating too.

New extension Pun Private Messaging (beta) is released. It works on both PunBB 1.3 RC and current dev version. Please, test it.
Download from svn or zip .
Feel free to report bugs or suggest improvements and new features.

MySQL of PunBB? Pun Private Messaging was developed to work on current version of PunBB 1.3.
Seemingly it is to be tested on others.

What do you chaps prefer? Would you like the PM system to automatically save a copy of every message you send, or would you prefer to manually check the box to make it save your messages? We've seen requests for both. Now is your chance to duke it out...

If we leave it as it is right now, the box is automatically checked for you so that it saves all outgoing messages to your sent....

Voted yes -as long as you can change the option (preferably have a cookie remember what you chose as well) .

Okay, so there are those messages that say "You cannot send a private message so soon! Please try again later..." when I try to send a PM at a rapid rate.
However, after waiting about five minutes, the same message pops up when I'm trying to send a PM...

Want to use it you can click on My Settings > Preferences > Private Messenger and unclick "Turn on private messages".
