Hi,
I've wiped an old PC and would like to put a copy of XP Pro upgrade edition on it. However, I no longer have my old XP Home and Windows 98 discs for when it asks for a previous version's disc.
Any way to get around this?

It's a bit tricky but it can.
Since the CD sees that a previous version of the OS is already installed on the hard drive, you don't actually need a disc to prove that you have a previous version.

Register a myFullApp URL with the full version and have the Lite app present an upgrade option that calls that URL with the various data you want to exchanged encoded....
Option is to exchange data from the Lite to the Full version via a URL.

I have just bought a brand new MacBook Pro (4GB ram) and was wondering which Windows 7 version (32 or 64) whould you recommend i install with BootCamp in order to do Visual Studio development? Is Visual Studio 32 bit? Any pointers to the correct install...

IIRC you can run and debug both 32-bit and 64-bit executables in 64-bit Windows but not in 32-bit Windows (as the latter isn't able to run 64-bit apps) .

I dont think there are any specific issues on Windows 7 .
