I thought the ball was directly driven by the combusting air/fuel mixture. No? Such a direct-drive system wouldn't work in airguns, due to the fact that high enough pressures couldn't be generated without pre-compressing the mixture - an pretty unacceptable...

Hook it up to propane like the C3 it would shave a heck of a lot of weight off the gun

I'm curious and wanted to do this. Obviously not a full tank, instead by weighing a full tank, shooting a few 100 shots then weighing it after, then doing some maths to get an idea of how many shots it would get.
