Hi
I have an SA-9800 that needs help. When I turn it on, if the speakers are on (A, or B or both), there is a fairly loud pop. If the speakers are off and the headphones are connected the headphones pop. If nothing is connected then there is a muffled...

There should be small delay with the relay metallic thump just as bad? Not really....
Likely in the AWR-191 power supply and/or AWM-163 protect board. Most likely both could use a rebuild: : Is that consistent with the instant power up? Yes.

Here is my circuit that i use
i switch on and off a relay (24v) with bdx53 transistor.but i have a problem that is when relay swtich on for 1second my digital circuit reset!!! why it occurs? its related to noise of relay?how can protect it?

Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at edaboard):
There shouldn't be any noise 1 second (optoisolator), so the DC power circuit switched by the relay is completely insulated from your digital circuits (not a register) maybe the program....
The noise from the relay will occur when you release it.

Hey Gang
I just scored an SX 780! I took it home, plugged it in and sadly it doesn't work When powered on, the lights come on but the protection relay doesn't engage. I read an old thread about the cold solder joints on the power packs and I think that...

Thanks but just working on a 780 that wouldnt come out ... .
The last one I worked on, it was a bad relay.
It could be a bad powerpack, bad protection circuit component or a bad relay.
Or take it to someone to fix it.
Checking things.

Just bought a Pioneer SX 1010 and have some questions. When I power it on the lights come on, when on FM it gets signal but all I get in my headphones is static in the left ear piece and then nothing. I took off the cover and the protection relay clicks...

In the meantime get some deoxit and clean all switches and pots and put some faderlube on the pots after cleaning .
Buy a service manual and check the power supply voltages per the instructions to see what you have to work with .

Despite the purchaser at Digikey saying that he'd email me when they were available, he did not. Regardless, Digikey now stocks quantities of PC-mount relays (they have already carried the solder lug style for quite a while) . Here's some numbers:
Code...

Thanks Echowars,
I've always wondered if there were specific OEM relay models used for various Japanese and other gear.

I have a feeder with CO-9 relay I'd like to coordinate with downstream breakers. The time delay element is adjustable, but the instantaneous element (IIT) is the problem. Does anyone know if we can add a timer to the IIT element? How is that done?

A digital relay has a digital ....
Once understood, a digital relay is much easier to test.
Ordering replacement parts is costly.
Old field guy.
You could add an outboard time delay relay.
That function isn't part of the relay.

Ok, about to do the relays for my convertible top pump and had a quick question. Look at the diagram below(thanks to Tim). What is the signal feed wire to the fuse box from the switch? Is that just a ground or where does it hook up?? I know how to deal...

The relay would be energized this relay conversion so the switch doesn't get all the power anymore??
Let me know!

Quote have the power through....
And the insulation fails there is zero protection for the relay operated item.

Dear fellow Power folks,
For a power transformer that is protected in the primary with a 230kV breaker and a half CB's and 69kV CB at the secondary as shown on the attached SLD, the differential zone should include the high voltage and low voltage side...

Still not clear to me how used in 87T Zone of protection....
And SEL 387 relay for transformer differential protection.
As I read SLD there defined Zones of protection for 87L and 87T and it looks F/O cable.
Or input to 87L relay).

Hello everyone, I'm rather excited to be part of this forum. I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question, if not I'm sure some one will give me guidance.
I am working on a Carrier condensing unit that is 17 years old. The control transformer...

It's up to you to maintain clearances, design in circuit protection, and protect' relay? One with screws that you directly attach wires to, rather then plug into a base? Sure, they exist if there is a relay....
