Don't get stressed by people demanding you perform.
If this is a publishing portal, there's a lot more to learn beyond just creating a list in there as you run a large risk of messing up the portal.

I know that creating a site template from a MOSS publishing site is not currently supported by Microsoft.
Can anyone tell me if creating a basic site, then turning on the publishing feature, then creating a site template is supported - I would guess not...

It has to be said I'm not finding much support for the idea of publishing bank details though florin of info will help your particular issue but I regularly publish Bank Name, Sort Code, sort-code, and account number.
