I assumed that the crank pulley bolt came loose so I purchased the tool for the crank ...

Is there any advantage that pass through has over a ratchet wrench? Any real reason to have a pass through and a ratchet wrenches?

A ratcheting wrench won't reach the nut, and the stud may be too long for a deep socket.
I'm going to have both the pass through and normal square I encounter a nut that's recessed .
Ratchet for when I need a torque wrench.

Is anybody using any of those cordless/corded impact wrenches instead of pneumatic ones?
How do they compare to each other? Are they worth buying?

It took me I was forced to take it to my mechanic... .
Once the nut is removed, put both hands around the pulley and wiggle it while pulling out at yourself.
You've got to break the crank pulley nut free and then pull the pulley off evenly.

The crank pulley fell off and wore through the timing cover. I need to know what size of bolt i need to put back in the pulley. I think some handy jb weld will take care of the timing cover. by the way this car has 312k miles on it!

The timing belt was done and whatnot.
It will still be able to be removed and reinstalled when necessary .
