I know it is discussed very often on this forum. this is just a question though, havent seen it because its in regards to a specific drummer.

Hes puttin presure on the middle and ring fingers, and using arm, wrist, and most of all rebound to get the notes... .
I like to mess around like this every so often, to me it helps control volume .
He isnt "pointing" his index finger, he just isnt using it .

Is there any way to mitigate them? When washing I use two separate buckets one clean with soap, the other to wring out my microfiber wash mitt. Careful not to ever drop them. I've clayed the car once and waxed it once. I've been using a synthetic shammy...

In hindsight.... (pun intended) The mirrors on the 1300 really suck, especially since my J&M unit covers 60% of the left side. (Love my J&M) You'd think 85 mph on the freeway was fast enough to not get run over, but I've constantly got cars screamin up...
