When is the best time of year to purchase a new computer (or anything computer-related for that matter)? I'm in serious need of a new laptop but I'm thinking I should wait until after the holidays and see if there are some great post-season sales out ...

My friend was fortunate enough to purchase an Asus EEE PC (I'm not sure which one though) for $99 USD don't run to your desired standards.
