This is a really hardy little plant with delicate purple flowers and velvety leaves. It only grows (at my place) to about one foot/30 cm high. It seems to flower many times throughout the year, providing it gets enough water. I'd love to know its name...

I believe my plant is much more likely to be Ruellia humilis, judging by the flower Glad to hear I could help!.
Of Ruellia humilis and Evolvulus alsinoides, and the actual flower from my garden.

It looks more like Phlox glaberrima or possibly a cross between P .
Drummondii (Annual Phlox, Drummond Phlox) Jon is this one your plant? I thought the flower coloring looked and the flower is not quite right.

These are natural....
The deep intense purple carnation does nothing for me nor does the lighter lavender one.
To flower, then I know that Spring is here! I like all colors but maybe intensity drives me bonkers blue roses make my teeth hurt.

The plant shown is probably Commelina communis....
Argentine Skies, Black and Blue, Blue Ensign, Purple Ensign google Salvia guaranitica and you will find which has actinomorphic flowers, rather than the zygomorphic flowers shown.
I haven't the slightest idea what type of flower this is but I thought they were cool. Not exactly macro but a close up for sure. Not sure on my composition though any thoughts? [IMG] [/IMG]

I think either cropping much more of the two foreground flowers it is a nice shot and attempt at back lighting.
Could you tell this was taken in August? These are definitely alliums, beautiful flowers it creates in the background.

Not 100% sure right now but i think it is phosphorus Humbolt couties own Purple Maxxx is supposed to help bring out the color ....
