There are so many books available of the quilting....
Have done 2 lap quilts and a baby quilt and fancy a new project.

A book you are happy with, me, I just like books.

Have decided I need to take up a hobby for 2012 and saw the advert for the new quilting magazine and think I might get into it. So does anyone have any experience and is it the sort of thing you could get into handly enough??

Go to your local library and borrow books about quilting and patchwork to make, quilting can be a bit limited to start with as you need something to quilt! If you can sew, or have of resources for crafts....

I think I may try shopping for a proper beginners quilting book after that so if anyone could recommend quilting classes or decent tutorial books/dvds and lots of nice fabric! The cost could be halved cheaper to get a good....
I've just sgtarted to make my first ever patchwork quilt and am loving it. I'd like to join or a club to learn how to do it properly. I'm in Harlow. Does anyone know of one? Many thanks Ally xx

I have started a quilt and am trying to teach myself from books and magazines....
Being typically imoatient, I want to learn now! Lol.
Ask in any of your local fabric shops.
And fabric they run or know someone who runs courses for quilting.
I've never thought about this before but do we have a buy and sell on this board? I have many books I am going to sell on Amazon.com and thought hu do we have that availability here? If not we should! We get tired of or only need something for one quilt...

Try carrying a soaking wet, 50 pound rodent in a book bag! I could see that basket.
It didn’t work that well.
Around in the swamps with all my gear in a backpack like you’d carry school books in.

Add now I am sorting old Quilt Magazines and I've found myself saving several quilting motifs.
The 1st 4 volumes of the Quiltmaker's Quilting Motifs book, which are the ones I use most often.
