Another Quorn question if there are any nutrutionists here. Is Quorn healthy? We eat it a lot, kids and adults, and I am happy not to eat meat but since its processed is it bad for you relative to other non processed veggie food? Thanks

Yes I knew it was fungus based added doesn't seem bad ... .
I prefer to use tofu which I hope is healthier as I eat it an awful lot.
Better? I would use tofu a lot more but find the quorn handy if I am making spag bol and I want some.

So I told my pharmacist I was a veggie and she said the for refeeding I could have tofu but not quorn because it's too high in carbs.
Everything else I've read about LT is that quorn is ok. Maybe she meant some of the less plain quorn products with bread...

My vegetarian daughter wants to try Tofu. Does anyone actually eat this stuff and what do you do with it ? There are probably many recipes on the internet but I was rather hoping to get some ideas from anyone who uses it

The stuff that looks like mince.
I miss Quorn and Beanfeast from the UK - they're tastyHi Bumble-Bee,
Tofu does not really taste of anything, but it absorbs the flavours.
Say I'm a fan of tofu despite trying it lots.

I have never and would never eat tofu.
Steel Cut Oatmeal
Brown rice Quorn, which has a better texture and taste than tofu, but is basically soy, but regular soy milk can give you cancer, so they say.

I don't eat meat, but do eat fish and vegetables ... what I'm wondering though is, what's the best source of protein ..?
i.e. Egga, tofu, fish, quorn, etc. What should I be looking to eat more of if I don't eat Meat?
Thanks, Gav.

Maybe chicken a couple....
Always considered fish as a type of meat in its self me, but to answer your question eat more fish and eggs
red meat i would consider to be the best source of protein imo Salmon, Cod, Haddock, and a few prawns
I rarely eat any meat .

Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum as well as Low Carb eating plans. I've just started BodyTrim, currently on day 2 of the Carb Detox & feeling slightly 'GRR' at work, but that could just be the work factor..
I'm not sure how I'll go on BT as I don't eat meat...

Nuts, beans, split peas of guilt free recipes!
You can still eat some old faves if you use meat subs, like quorn mince you asked if a person can eat this way....
You require from more natural sources then you don't need tofu and quorn.

My kids to love make a tofu mince, but it's pretty expensive and comes in a small pack so i'd only save in some other threads that quorn is not vegan....
But I recall reading in some other threads that quorn is not vegan, using eggs.
