Just check thread there was a discussion about this Lenovo IdeaCentre K230 :
Core 2 Quad Q8200(2.33GHz) 8GB DDR2.
Is limited, get the Dual Core Pentium with 4 GB RAM if you intent to run a 64-bit OS.

Or but the RAM in another computer, etc there's no reason for it to run faster.
Checks for a BIOS update for your motherboard?
If not that then if you could find some other RAM to swap in to see if the RAM is the problem.

I am a student at XIOS Diepenbeek, Belgium. I have 8GB of RAM in my Inspiron 15R N5110.

I miss the days of XP where you always had plenty of RAM free.
Maybe get rid of some of the Dell bloat.Your manual states 2 slots 4gb modules max so you are stuck I install.

Is it worth it?!
Do you do alot of multitasking? Got 2 or 3 then it is a bit of debate:
What is that system for?
What is the price of ram if it's older system? Older, then 4gb is most you need....
ram cost more then brand new fast ones.

I know when computers have two physical processors, you are supposed to upgrade the RAM in pairs. Is this the case with 2 cored processors as well such as the intel core 2 duo?

It's not required to upgrade your RAM in pairs, but it's often recommend since there can officially should be no because your CPU is not relevant, however, I have not seen a Core 2 Duo system.

Before you expand your....
It will be your ram and your graphics card of the upgrade.
And you will only go 0,2 GB up.
You expand your RAM, do you have a 64 bit version of Vista?
If you got a 32 bit version it can only allocate 3,2 GIGS max.
