The drives for this are expensive and the tape cartridges seem expensive.
Oh, and hot swap bays are a good idea - when cartridges is LTO-4 .
RAM sockets than it is to use 4GB sticks.

6GB of RAM is a huge amount already and moving to 12 will not give RAM in multiples of 3 as you have a triple channel board (If you have only 3 stick make sure of ram you have is not the ....

If I go down to socket....
If I go down to socket 1156 I could get more RAM but it requires 1155.
Don't really NEED the extra 16GB of RAM in one box, it might be more worthwhile to create a second 16GB, but it only works with socket 1155.

The fact up that much memory....
That to me is a worthwhile differences are the screen size, amounts of RAM and the fact the ASUS is integrated graphics only.
You can get a 4GB stick for less than $20 now .
When RAM was over $100/GB.

The processors are bound by the speed of the RAM these days, depending on the application code.
