So I'm feeling a lot of play in my steering. A mechanic who hadn't even driven the car listened to my description and suggested that it could be the rack. Hopefully it's just an
alignment . But has anybody had any problems with there rack and pinion on...

I need to change out the bushings.
The wheel back and forth while I watched the Rack & Pinion move back and forth about 1/4" or more I watched the Rack & Pinion move back and forth about 1/4" or more.

Does anyone know if the steering gear/rack and pinion on a MKIV 1.8T or VR6 is the same as a TDi? I am in need of one and just wondering what my options are. My rack is leaking from the right side, pull the boot back and found it leaking from the seals...

Nope the 1.8t and vr6 are the same as the tdi
It's only the r32 for the link .
Different rack and pinion then the TDI.

Cross member with brackets(bolts included)
Steering Rack(mounting bushing included)
complete steering linkage + UV joint adapter cut ...

I have a 98 honda civic' i unbolted everything except the the h frame (subframe) that the rack is mounted to. The rack is loose i jjst cant get it out. If i can just lcan just clear 2 more inches i can get it out. Any help in how to turn or sumin
