So I recently sold my Ric (no regrets! Rics weren't comfortable for my hands and the weight was pretty hefty as well) and now I'm on the hunt for a short-scale bass. I'm 5'6" so I think I overestimated how large my hands were and...

Gibson also makes a shorty....
Gretsch also makes some short scale basses...
Some other models on this list as an alternative to the Epiphone/Gibsons.
They have a unique sound and play very well.
I love the Gibson EB-3/SG model basses.

I can get a Gibson Les Paul Studio (£320) or an Epiphone Les Paul Custom with EMGs (£400), to be honest I would rather get the Epiphone because of the EMGs however I was wondering what you would choose...

Really, Gibson(or any other manufacturer) should have it over any instrument some really hot Japanese girl can turn out in a factory.

The Banks is much louder than the Gibson.
I have no exposure to the gibson on a titan though.
