Should I read Lord of the Rings books first or should start with The Hobbit ? I have the three LotR books and The Hobbit, which one should i start with first? someone said i should read the hobit then the other three? help!

I think reading LotR first makes the Hobbit more interesting how he acquired ....
I don't think it matters which way you read them.
I read Lord of the Rings first, and I loved them so I went on to read the hobbit.

Do I need to read the Hobbit in order to read Lord of the Rings....? I read them when I was like....eleven, or twelve; it got the 'glossed over it enough to say I did it' version of 'read it' and I remember nothing at all about them other than I didn'...

Reading the Hobbit will give you some background but it's not vital, after all the film version of LoTR was released....
I'm currently reading the hobbit, but I've read LoTR two or three times and seen the films several times.
