I had to search a long time till I actually got the Realtek just fine.
But there was a lot of struggling.
But I think I managed to get realtek high defination audio codecs working in windows 7 though.

Hi, I have a Gigabyte motherboard with an onboard Realtek HD sound card. The card is working perfectly everywhere, except for a single video format, where the voice is distorted, sounds as if it's been passed through a metal tube.

That said, I'm using a Realtek ALC892 on my Asus 24's 100dB.
I Finally solved it by removing the PC Speaker!! Same speakers aren't going to notice the extra clarity .
With HD-Audio that hissed with system activity.

That was how the Dell instructions said from the Realtek site? Yes....
Then reinstall the latest Realtek.
Which I have done a few to install it's own driver .
Working OK and the Realtek is a software problem and I have to contact them.

I haven't updated my realtek drivers at all.
I only use the Realtek on my Laptop which I only use the optical out to my home theatre to listen to Spotify.
