I gave myself extra space to brake figuring cold brakes BITE HARD.
I was surprised.
In my opinion you should even when cold BITE HARD .
Get the rear brakes hot enough to benefit from a pad of that nature.

I ended replacing....
I went the other day to replace my rear brake shoes on the Colt and was told by three different parts suppliers that you do not get non-OEM rear brake shoes for the Colt.
With drums for the hand brake.

Just riding home and my rear brakes just failed. They were working intermittently then went to use the rear while coming up to a roundabout and nothing, had to use front brakes instead.
Just got it home and pushed the footbrake to check the brakes and...

I honestly wouldn't know if my rear brake it's actually used.
If my rear brake failed it would be a looong time before i noticed!
never really use think ahead and don't race around using harsh braking.

I found 256mm vented brakes for sale and the lad selling them said they are front discs? I thought 288 was front and 256 rear ?

Are they ok to use Ive used , no complaints here .
I have purchased akabono brakes for front and back but they told me not to use those.
Brakes are easy but you can try an find a local Indy to do the trans pan gasket.
