I at the moment work in a call center for UPC and have the service at home. I really want to upgrade to a recording box and i also want to go HD but the problem is i don't trust the UPC DVR's and i know UPC's HD channels are limited, defiantly in comparison...

The main difference that I can see is that with Sky you can record two shows at once provided youIf your Sky box breaks after a year, you pay for the replacement.

I noticed last week when recording Hawaii 5-0 on Sky1 HD the beginning was really choppy, picture breaking up, that coincided with recording Top Gear in HD, the end of that got messed up

We use sky + all the time to record from various channels. However, whenever we record off sky 1 or any "sky" channels it doesn't record any program at all. This has happened numerous times. We never have any problems with any other channels. Does anyone...

In the last week or so, when I have 'Sky+' a show, on playback, I just get a solid blue screen. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's transient nature is very frustrating!
On playback, all I get is a solid blue screen, the whole way through the recording...
