I read about your problem..lower rectal pain in young males is a well described phenomenon in medical literature but has no underlying sinister pathology.
You do need to see a surgeon for a per rectal examination to evaluate your prostate..self examination...

Chronic pelvic pain syndrome!) I've had that problem since my early 20's, and no doctor has ever had this pain for at least 3-4 years, but can't pinpoint it exactly.

I am 35 weeks and 4 days and for the past hour or so I have been having a lot of rectal pressure and lower back pain. Is rectal pressure a sign of false labor or is it caused by the baby being low?

Danjohnson- sorry your getting worried but Id say your best bet is to tell your family doctor and take it from there-may be just a case of hemmeroids or fissure or problems with straining and broken bloodvessels -should it be of any concern he would send... .

So, I woke up with some pain that starts at my tailbone and goes all the way to my rectum. I figured it would just go away, but it hasn't. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Could it be sciatic nerve pain, perhaps? I have no idea and I'm worried...

Maybe it is possible that you slept wrong and that is causing the discomfort .

Sorry to know about your situation. You sound like me except I have hyperthyroidism. the hypothyroidsm gives you a lot of constipation and hence messes up the fissure. I have a fissure since 2008 and I was able to get rid of it but now I have a fistulla...

So for those who remember me or not, my dad has stage 3b rectal cancer and went through chemo 5fu and radiation, its been 2 months since and has gone through transfusions, netropenic, sepsis blood infections! All this has led to a delay in his surgery...
