I use this along with ATF-Cleaner whenever I touch a family member's computer.
It's free and easy to use.
I use Ccleaner It removes crap in addition to cleaning up the registry.

It also seems to do a good job cleaning the registry.
It used to be called "Crap Cleaner", but they re-branded, and temporary files older then a specified threshold.
CCleaner is the best I have used.
I know this doesn't sound like a programming question, but every Windows XP developer box I use ends up with a high degree of cruft after several months. The first few months it runs like the wind, everything is smooth, applications compile instantly....

It cleans up your registry and gets some stuff CCleaner misses as well as some.
It seems to me that reg cleaners cause more features of its own.
I stopped worrying about registry cruft a long time ago.

I use CCleaner in cleaning my PC registry 1 Like i want to get rid of temp file folder, every time.
What registry cleaner do you use? I have REGVAC but am looking for a reliable one that does what you want it to do - REMOVE ALL ENTRIES THAT DO NOT POINT TO A VALID PROGRAM ETC.

If you well away from all registry cleaners Steve, most of them do more harm than good.
UK recommend one called 'Reg Cleaner' but i'm not sure if it's the same one I find on google.
I used UniBlue's RegistryBooster for a while untill I understood that it was the cause of loosing a shortcut and perhaps even the program belonging to it. I stopped using it immediately, especially since UniBlue didn't offer to try to fix their program...

I'm sorry about posting so many problems. I probably sound like a person that has too may to solve or someone that doesn't know what He's doing... Which in some ways is probably true LOL Let's just say I know enough to be dangerous, and leave it at that...
