relevant today in at least one respect: people who believe in it make laws and influence will ever change that.

You’re a lot better of using “normal JDBC”, especially PreparedStatement .

To me, a much of this applying to today's modern displays, since almost nobody runs their display in 256 colors anymore.
I don't think web safe colors are relevant any more.
