If you are looking for service less option for remote restarting of the server then you would need to rely on scripts.

There's no way for the scheduled task to copy to the share if the network... .
Probably because the TCP connection was broken after the router reboot, so the SMB connection deletes and then reestablishes the drive mapping after the reboot...
