Airlines use sandpaper to remove paint.
The paint, while great for metal surfaces, it can alter the shape of plastic.

For repainting plastics, in my opinion there is no better paint to use ....
I use black acrylic paint the new paint and it has saved having to totally repaint.
Very nice job there TB.
Uses it too as it has been mentioned in the past .

If it was the paint itself(Anti-foaming problem), it would be everywhere, not just over the patches issues.
It's an older house and there are probably multiple layers of paint.
