This should not give a warning, given that you include the asterisk as you describe in a comment to another answer .
Change your casting line to:
MyObject *obj = (MyObject *)[array objectAtIndex:1];
The missing * is the problem .

About once in 1 or 2 months, my 32bit CF8.01 (with cumulative hot fix 2) on Windows 2003 Server + IIS6 would somehow freeze for an unknown reason.
