This should not give a warning, given that you include the asterisk as you describe in a comment to another answer .
Change your casting line to: MyObject *obj = (MyObject *)[array objectAtIndex:1]; The missing * is the problem .

The amount say it causes me stress.
If those are the reasons, then all phones cause stress.
My phone is hardly a smart phone, and I think ANY kind of phone could cause stress levels be a lot more stressed without it.
