Their projected consumer sales for the new Focus, because of the DCT fiasco, MFT, and the breakdown fleet sales?
I'd say worries about resale value have merit, unfortunately.

Best Focus sales since 2003 sounds pretty good, and the big gains in import heavy California is an achievement.
Fiesta sales seem to be going nowhere, though.

From your own article dealing with GDP Retail sales did "inch up".
For all of 2011, retail sales totaled a record $4.7 trillion, a gain sales.
