Seeing the 'is downloading a torrent of software you own illegal' thread, it made me think about this. Anyone have any answers?

When downloading movies on torrent websites, usually they come as 700mb video files and with the .avi extension.
In one single dvd I have 4~6 movies and they play very nice (with good quality) in my DVD player!
I've downloaded Handbrake and DVD43 . But...

Hi all, this is my first post to this forum.

If you want to keep the menus you must rip to an iso image with for example bdlot dvd iso master how to do that, maybe you won't be able to convert the DVDs to the format it does support.

Hi; My original question re; wpm ripping dvds was already answered. I had already done all that has been suggested. So, went to dealer who sold me computer and windows 7 system. point of purchase, was told yes, system will rip & burn dvds. Great! No.....

I have no idea what is happening. Every time I try to RIP a DVD and burn it I get the BSOD "after" the burn has completed. No problems ripping just after the process has completed. I have BSOD using ConvertXtoDVD 4 and 1Click DVD Copy.

Aside from legal aspects, I've heard some people complain about decrypting DVDs with DVD Decrypter? Does anyone know of any downfalls to this program?
Some of the complaint's I've heard have to do with things like dropped frames or corrupted video...?...

Everything else, I either strip out extras (P4) sitting around that could... .
Even though dual layer DVDs are still somewhat expensive, I've just been ripping them only backing up the good ones to dual layer DVDs.
From using DVDShrink.
