"piscator non solum piscatur" I have something similar from the sixties that allowed me to coarse fish a salmon beat on the Usk .
Now that is a one off.
I've got Monday night free and fancy doing a bit of fishing. Anyone seen much in the Ribble to go at? I nned to get some practice in before a trip to the Towy at the end of June.

I am new to Salmon fishing. I want to fish for Salmon and Sea-Trout on Mid-Ribble (Hodder foot and below). Do I need to get a double handed fly rod? Or can I fish with a 10' 7/8wt single handed fly rod? I have a fairly old Hardy Invincible fly rod 10'...

The opposite bank quite a bit and in low water you'd be fine, but in prime time with the river.

As most of my river fishing is carried out from September, and I try not to fish weekends anyway, Billy Clarke told me that the river sheaf is teaming with fish and especially trout! Nice to hear about rivers that were once open....
