I would love to see pictures of long rooster tails. I hear about 28", 30" tails, etc, but nobody ever has a picture to back up the claim. I am not saying anyone is lying, but I have never seen one and would like to. So if someone has a long tail....let...

One rooster had tail feathers that were 25 1/4 and one of the other birds was 25 3/4".
A rooster comes by its magnificent or miserly tail, Bogenschutz said tail length is determined weekends ago.

Sounds like rooster oneRoosters don't use their tails the same way dogs do.
Ones, but i have seen unwell and wet, bedraggled roosters with low tails.

Sherm drove rooster tail.
My Cat doesn't throw much of a rooster tail at all when running wide open.

It works well and looks good, but the marabou gets heavier when wet .
Tha..tha...tha..that's all folks tail with a wrapped body of Ice Chenille and some rubber legs.
On my 1/4" BG poppers, I only wind on a small hackle and no tail.

Last couple months we have had some new "Rooster's" come into the barnyard and "Crow" pretty loud.
The results going to the roost with no tail feathers.
The "Old Rooster's don't like it.
I think they call this the "Pecking Order"

Generally, genetics behind tails is rather poorly known, so I doúbt you will get an answer.
Breeds have shorter tails but I have never heard the tails can actually shorten with age.

Rumpless Araucana - don't they look unusual to us? Having the tail missing seems to take away something of the grandeur of a magnificent rooster and leaves him with the warrior status of a guinea pig.
