Staying at the Comfort Suites Otay Mesa, Getting Up the next morning, and heading to Rosarito Beach .
The only online sevice that could give directions has me crossing through town, not clear on some of the roads.

It comes is my preferred way to go TO Rosarito, but they are repaving the highway and mucho delays possible.
The signs to Rosarito (NOT Tecate, which splits off a couple of miles after you're on the 4 lane).

There are yellow cabs with posted fares in the cab; there are others also--just be sure the amount is clearly determined before you get into the cab .
Cab fare is $20-$25.00 each way.

Just stayed at Las Gaviotas and I must say it was great to have your own home in a gated community. The guards are great people. The place was super clean. The beach had no 4x4, horses, hawkers and nearly no people because it is a private sandy beach ...
