Hi guys.
I'm about to replace the front rotors on my Eb Ghia. The flyer that came with the new rotors (RDA) says 'always fit new brake pads with new disc rotors'. My front pads are QFM HPX and have less than 20,000km on them, so still have heaps of material...

Replace the pads I would the old pads are worn to the old rotors The reason for changing pads change only one of these either only pads or rotors then it takes time for the pads to then wear to the old ....

I recently purchased a used Honda Civic and don't know whether I need to get the brakes replaced or not. I took a ruler and estimated the rotor and pad thicknesses as follows:
Rotor: ~0.82"
Pads: ~0.21"
Should I get new pads and rotors?

Am I the only one who doesnt resurface rotors anymore? Around here they want around $20 each rotor...and BECAUSE i installed new....
And wear pads in odd ways so the squealer never makes noise while the opposite pad goes metal.

I just put new front rotors; my pads looked really good, so I left the old pads.
I now have vibration at high speeds when braking, and certain low speeds mostly with wheels turned.
The old rotors had worn a bit uneven, so I am assuming that could have...

The new pads will break in the rotor unlike your old....
The old pads might not ever wear flat just heat the rotor because there already, no matter how much pad is left.
The rotors down instead of the pad.

My wife is complaining of pulsating brakes when she stops. This has been a perpetual problem with this car (2003 Vibe), with rotors wearing out after a year or so (and she doesn't drive hard). I'm looking at getting a yet another different brand of rotors...

If it was me on my car, pads are cheap, so I'd just throw a new pair on.
What brand of pads and rotors were the last? You probably have a rotor run out problem.

This will be the FIRST time.
$259 for front and $259 for rear, pads is telling me my front rotors/pads are in need of replacement.
$259 per axle is way too much for just the pad replacement.
