Why did countries in Europe use small caliber pistol rounds? Now I know not ALL European countries used small caliber pistol rounds (ex Britain's .455 webley for a period of time) but I believe Italy used the .32 acp, Czechs used it as well in the skorpion...

Some nations like Mexico (Yes, I know not in Europe) have restrictions these calibers were adopted.

Just turned fifty ( in tosser years young ? ). Now planning a trip to Europe on bike. Due to work can only go for about 5 days. There will be 3 of us. Going down to Hull and across to Zeebrugge. As i said going out on a Thursday coming back on the Monday...
