Hi,
I need a Java way to find a running Win process from which I know to name of the executable. I want to look whether it is running right now and I need a way to kill the process if I found it.
Thank you! Greetz, GHad

We are reluctant to move to Crystal Reports 2008. But it appears that that is the only way to get a version of Crystal that is compatible with Windows 7 running in the 64 bit mode. Does anyone know if SAP is going to retrofit CR XI R2 to run on Win 7 ...

You have to upgrade to CR 200....
SAP has confirmed that they will not retrofit CR XI R2 for 64 bit mode .
You could try stimulsoft reports which have zero foot print like merge modules etc.100% managed and has tool to export crystal report to stimulsoft .

Is there a quick way to make VirtualBox running Win XP connect to the Internet?
If using Virtual PC 2007, then it is pretty simple: just choose the Network as "Shared (NAT)" and the Virtual PC running XP can use the Internet.
With VirtualBox, there are...

I think that both are supported inside of XP, but you may wish to try first with PCnet PCI II since that one is older (and thus probably has driver already... .
Choice of card type is only important with regards to driver .
NAT is enough for sharing Internet.

From the benefit of being able to use above 3gb ram limit (loosely put ... don't take strictly) ?
I have a 64bit processor, but all my software is 32-bit, and I'm thinking about upgrading to win7. Old 32bit software will run fine, I guess, with some glitches...

There will be a time when x86 is ancient and you will not get Windows to run on it, but I don't think that will be for some time and even then, you will most likely to still....

Why does Windows 7's Virtual PC running Win XP Professional has no "Shut down" button -- if clicking on START, there is only "Log off".
To shut down, we need to press CTRL-ALT-END on the keyboard and then choose from a list of options... I used XP Professional...

It is a 5 kilometer run aka 3.1 miles. I am more of a sprinter, I don't really do distance stuff. How do I get myself ready in 5 days? I don't want to overdo it and find myself exhausted on race day.
I was thinking...
Today: 1 mile
Wednesday: 1.5 miles...

Is there any compelling reason to be concerned with running a WINS server on a small network? What applications require the ability to resolve LANMan and/or NETBios names?

Organizations running Windows Server 2003 or 2008 networks do not need WINS, except for legacy.

Believe it or not, we've been asked to resurrect an ancient MS Access 2.0 application that hasn't been used for a few years. However, we cannot even get it to run under XP. We're getting:

I have Win 7 installed using Boot Camp. It works great, but I have noticed my iMac seems to be much hotter to the touch when I've been running Windows. Is the fan not working, or do I need to do something to ensure the fan is working correctly in Windows...

First warmer than it does when running OSX, not hot but very warm.
Under normal use, the fans would spin up and I would notice that it would run rather hot.
