There is ALWAYS a catch with rural medicine.
This is the first sign-on I have seen that high but wanted to make the point that rural medicine does dig a little and are serious about applying.
Can anyone give me their opinion and the pros and cons of the FM residency at University of Tennessee, Knoxville? I already contacted the program and got the information that they send out, but I wanted to know what someone in the program thinks of it...

I think this decision....
I think this is a very very good decision...our rural areas do not have good doctors at all....and money is very less..so Good doctors are only confined to towns and cities..and rural people should in rural areas...

A couple examples? Would you say FM has the most flexibility in how one is able to practice medicine? My current job I am the only doctor at a frontier hospital in Nevada (more remote than rural).

I want to improve rural, I agree with SunsFun.
For me, it's a passion for service and a knack for the sciences .
Decided to pursue medicine when, in fact, like all important life decisions, most fell backwards into it.
