I took possession of a new 2012 Subaru Legacy Premium 2.5i on April 19 and noticed rust around the engine a couple days later. I attached some pictures of the rust as well as a picture showing where it's located.

There is a TSB for rust on the rocker arms but the fix is to just the engine bay there is always a little rust it that scares you check out under the car you'll shit.
In for you?? It was a lot car.

That is a rusty mk3 but that is exactly were they rust.they also rust underneathDo bear in mind that this isn't always the case, I have a 1.6 1997 which only has rust where the lacquer has been broken and not attended....

For you northern guys, can anyone comment on "Rust Stop " oil treatment undercoating ?
Where they spray the doors and underside with an oil/ wax liquid to prevent rust.
I was considering having this done , but don't like the fact that you have to take...

I was a faithful Rust Check customer....
I have an 04 sierra and have had it sprayed fresh and the undercariage limber and well preserved any of the oil based rust sprays should work.
I can comment on the process of annual rust prevention.

A little concerned, my Territory AWD Titanium (Aug 11 build) was purchased new from the Ford Dealership 1 and a half weeks ago - 2011 runout model.
Had a quick look underneath and surprisingly found a bit of rust (both sides).
I'll let Ford know about...

Why is it that every car I've owned, the drivers side doors tent to rust out first at the bottom weld seams? I have just discovered that mine are pretty bad, but my passenger side doors are mint. The legacy is a 2005 for pete sake!

How often do you wash your car, they must salt the roads pretty bad.
