Newer tape drives, such as LTO4, are much more expensive technology: Quantum ....
Guess what, it's only available in SCSI.
LTO is effectively the standard tape.
I'd suggest a SAS or SCSI LTO3/LTO4 drive.
Is a horrible format).

They are designed more than the theoretical....
SCSI basic level SCSI drives will be more reliable simple because they are built better.
If that were so, any new filesystem would need firmware upgrades on all drives.
Is totally BS.

Got an HP Proliant DL380 I need drives for. Looking for around 36GB per drive, or drives that run at 15K RPM. They need to look like this (with or without caddy)

$28 seems pretty darn cheap to me! Generally 15,000rpm drives run.
Of drives to tie me over for the moment.

I've got a Promise vTrak m210p subsystem. It supports LUN mapping & masking, and has two SCSI channels (2 VHDCI ins & 2 outs on rear of device). I believe this question will probably apply to many devices of this type. According to the literature: "With...

Basically you can link it to two servers, each with an external parallel SCSI-320 interface (something ... .
Connect it to a server(s), and share via NFS or iSCSI? This one is actually quite easy as there's a limit to how that box can be used in this way .
I know ZIP 250 has trouble, but ZIP 100 does fine. Also, Syquest EZ drive 144 and 250 work wonderfully. I have a IOMEGA Ditto 2gb i wanna try....any thoughts?

I dont think there is problem with SCSI Zip 250 (z250s p/n).
I've been reading a bunch of threads about using server drives in our old Macs, so I've been looking around . . . . . . If someone in the tech Support Brigade could contribute a howto on Server HDD types and adaptation aimed at the rest of us, it would...

I did a P2V conversion of a production server (W2K3R2 64-bit) a while back using the VMWare conversion tool. I then installed the free VMWare Server 2.0 product on a Windows server, and am able to boot and interact with the VM guest. My purpose for this...

I'm more familiar with ESX but the next things i would look at are: Permon Trace on... .
But the 7200 drives should be good.
On? EDIT: That shouldn't be too horrible although i would really have liked to see SAS drives with 10k spindle speed.
