Your question this file; others will not be able to read this file, like they would if it was on the SD card.

It should create the file in your app's data directory, not the SD card.

I have installed a map into the main memory using mapinstall. Is it possible to now move it from there to the SD card? I didn't see any option to install to the SD card in the first instance.
