If you wish for the SMP....
Simply double click the protein icon in the system tray to open the SMP client again.
3) Rightclick the SMP client.
Make sure the SMP client is running.
OK on the Welcome screen.

I don't get this but lately my SMP has been getting really crappy WU's that do less the 1000 ppd while my GPU gets units with estimated 7500 ppd.

Since you´re still using the old console client: you need to add -smp (or -smp x, x being could go wild and use the v7 client /facepalm
Recommended cpu client to run these days? doesn´t matter, they all perform the same....
