Im looking at getting a larger SSD as a system and data drive, looking around the 120gb area.

I keep hearing about people who want to get SSD for their databases. But instead of putting their tables on SSD, quite often people want to put their DB log on SSD while leaving their tables on regular hard drives.
But why would anyone want to do that...

As an aside, I once will never delay any database .
Viable in some cases - is to keep things simple and use single SSD for all the log files, so you have to get a higher write throughput from putting transaction logs on SSD.

If the computer takes SATA drives, you should have no problem using SSD sata drives.
Any standard SATA based SSD will work with any SATA based socket.

I'm trying to put together a business case for getting every developer in our company an Intel SSD drive.
The main codebase contains roughly 400,000 lines of code. My theory is that since the code is scattered about in maybe 1500 files, an SSD drive would...

Hello everyone,
I have to buy some new computers for my users. Some sellers told me that it is a good idea to have a small SSD (32GB) for the System (linux or WinXP) and a SATA II (more than 300GB) for other stuff.
Is there any one that have already experienced...

To say the truth SSD vs RAM gives no advantages.

Flexibility of SSD is simple: Most motherboards don't support adding RAM on the fly.
