I am using an Intel X25-E SSD for the system drive of a Windows Server 2008 R2 server with 16 GB RAM. Would it be good practice to move the pagefile to its own drive? If so, for the pagefile drive, would there be a preference for SSD or conventional hard...

The traditional answer would....
Whether it is a good idea or not to use SSD's for the system drive SSDs have on those patterns, there are few files better than the pagefile to place on an SSD.
drive seems a bit strange to me.
I'm looking for an SSD disk for my operating system drive on my desktop machine. There seems to be a huge range of sizes and prices. I understand that the internal mapping between flash blocks and logical blocks makes a huge difference in responsiveness...

The Intel X-25 is still one of the best all around performers... .
The article Understanding SSDs and New Drives from OCZ still is one of the best references to understanding.
It looks like the Intel X-25 drives are the speediest, but they're pricey.
Before you Read this, please note that you may not be capable of running all the little shortcuts/perks I did/do with my setup. You are more then welcome to try everything I suggest and see the improvements for your self but due to being busy with school...

Hello! I would like to upgrade my laptop's (Dell M70) hard drive to an SSD, such as the Intel X25-M MLC SSD or a Dell 128 GB Serial ATA SSD . I wonder whether SSDs require any special hardware to work properly, or if installing an SSD in place of a regular...

In case it does work and you install Windows 7, it will detect the SSD and turns off a Parallel ATA (PATA) SSD.
Edit: read Molly's post! You can only use the SSD if the laptop actually support S-ATA, else it's not possible.
The main advantage of SSD drives is better performance. I am interested in their reliability. Are SSD drives more reliable then normal hard drives? Some people say they must be because they have no moving parts, but I am concerned about the fact that ...

For reliability in rough environments, any SSD is probably going to out-rate a normal hard drive.

I'm getting ready to release a tool that is only effective with regular hard drives, not SSD (solid state drive). In fact, it shouldn't be used with SSD's because it will result in a lot of read/writes with no real effectiveness. Anyone knows of a way...

Another smartctl -i sda from Smartmontools....
SSD devices emulate a hard disk device interface, so they can just be used like hard disks characteristics of the drive (latency, speed, size), though this won't be accurate for all drives.
I am wanting to replace my Operating sytem hard drive with 2 SSD drives. Well possibly just 1 but I am curious about doing 2 in a RAID-0 setup for even more improved speed. What exactly would I need to run 2 SSD drives in a raid0 setup?

But for most people, this is terribly setup matches the block size of the SSD or a small multiple there-of and is aligned with said "physical of software RAID is that....
Incredible speeds from SLC SSD drives, using a PCIe interface.
Functionally, what's the difference between a USB flash drive and an SSD (aside from their interfaces, because duh)? Lots of nice gooey hardware discussion is totally welcome.

A USB flash drive uses USB, which is generally....
Mostly the interface.
SSD drives are packed with very fast, very expensive chips.
That is marketed for speed (I've had good luck with OCZ, the write speed difference was noticeable) .
Hello, i just installed windows 7 on an ssd harddisk and i got a so called "system reserved" drive of 100MB does anyone what that is for? and how i can get rid of it?

You cannot get rid.
In an "invisible" partition, regardless if your HD is SSD or spinning disks.
Hey folks, I saw a question on moving hyberfile.sys to a different drive from the boot partition, which I was considering as I have an SSD as the second drive in one of my laptops. All the answers say you can't - ok - but I can move the page file to the...

I have never done it, but, with the fact that XP is not always boost as if you moved the page file to ... .
There are the normal issues of having a paging file on an SSD, mainly the limited number of writes (erases, whatever) an SSD supports.
