For those that don't want to read through the many pages of this long Thread, here is the Cliff Notes version. Basically I found out that two thermostats can be purchased and parts mixed and matched to give a thermostat that will control at around 205...

My supposed "195f" stant t-stat allows as much at a nominal 205 Degrees.
Especially would not do if I lived in warmish climate .
Replacement for my car, and a 205 Degree Stant thermostat that I mentioned earlier in the thread.

Well I just found out a couple of days ago (via this forum) that apparently my Saturn ('00 SL2) is running too cold. My gauge will absolutely not go above the 1/4 mark. Not that this is a big deal, it's cheap and easy to fix, I just have a quick question...

Does a 1941 R2 Cat have a thermostat? If not, what can be done to increase the temperature to more effective running limits? It seems to run too cool at about 150degrees in cold weather. It does not have shutters in front of the radiator that can be closed...

stant thermostat is good enough for our race car and gates radiator hoses work just but each their own I guess.

So I read that your thermostat is bad when your engine only hit's the 1/4th mark for heat.
Well. Radiator sprung a leak.
So I replaced it, and the t-stat while I was at it.
Still doesn't go past the 1/4th mark.
I'm thinking my temp sensor is bad too. ...

95 Astro Conversion of unknown lineage a thermostat just to be sure it wasnt something else and it was fine.
