Total package = wages + super.
Double check his pay slip and set up.

While people tend to say salaried when they mean exempt....
What matters is exempt (from overtime laws) and non-exempt (from overtime laws) .
They are pay methods and have no legal meaning of their own .
Salaried and hourly are not what matter.
