Here's another photo from my cell phone. Geez, now that I know how to do this, I can start sharing photos with all you out there. These sturgeon were caught below the Pittsburg PG&E plant. There were five of us fishing and we ended the day just one sturgeon...

I really want my daughter to get a keeper in the Willamette, and of the four days of "catch and keep" this year, our schedule means we can only go out for one of them. If you had one day to fish for a keeper, what bait would you be sure you had on hand...

I did well last year with live shrimp, take them all! Have all the commonly known baits that sturgeon eat, that way there's no doubt you didn't have the right bait.
We also add sturgeon feast or, sturgeon cocktail.

Do in the slot.
I know some people just cut them into steaks and BBQ them ala salmon.

I have tried A LOT of different recipes and have never really been that happy with any of them, until now. I use the same ingredients for elk, deer and salmon and it comes out just the way I like it so I thought I would pass it along.

Mix (basic brown sugar brine) and YES, this one is now my NEW favorite!
Going to try sturgeon I just put it straight on to the racks.

For that you can get that rod and another i.e Buzz rod AND a nice Okuma sturgeon boat rod 934 GH Kenai Kwik!! Very good all purpose Salmon Rod.
