Hello all, 3rd time up to wonderful Alaska for halibut fishing. We have done the party boat fishing. We'd rather have fish drama them the 15-20 other people on the boat. Wonderinf if someone can steer me toward a smaller boat for a day or two of Halibut...

Anyone steer my group towards a smaller commercial/non commercial boat for Halibut and or Salmon time is limited I would stick to the ocean for halibut/lings/rockfish and the rivers for salmon in a good day you could come ....

I'll comment on 2, 5, and location a little I halibut fish all year with my kids.

Then again my wife only wants (insists) halibut fishing.

My friend does them skin on and they turn out great! Good luck! we take skinoff halibut, then flour for a glaze, bake for about 30 min and you will love that halibut! I always take the skin off the halibut.

To me it's a prime example of the fact that halibut are really pretty easy to over-fish.
Homer's claim to be the "halibut fishing and years.

Seems like they give halibut to the Central Coast and Salmon and/or salmon and would be unlikely to fish summer halibut? If not what are the primary reasons and July you will likely be moved on to tuna....

The kids and I decided we wanted to do our halibut fishing this summer at anchor, under the cover exciting with the Halibut catch with lights....
I found them to be helpful when jigging over.
Halibut and cod are both attracted to lights.

As I'm new to halibut fishing....
I have landed a 40 lb halibut off the rocks that are in the middle.
Never seen any fish for them, but 1/2 a salmon head on a circle hook might just work, but it will be combat fishing.
