If you look back to older posts of the forum suggestions even Samsung support were of any help, so I have lived with it.
My BD-P1500 has been doing this occasionally, for about 2 years.

HELP, my BD-P1500 is frozen.
Last night I started a firmware update process from an ethernet connection. The power went out during the download portion (not the update portion).
When power came back on, I was prompted to update again, the download completed...
