Santa Barbara? Taking the family there for spring break...maybe four nights then a trip up hwy 1 to Carmel for a few nights. Been to Carmel a few times, but never to SB.
What say you Shaggy nation? Recs on food, wine, pubs, activities in SB would be appreciated...

You can drive up and Abacus.
For 20 or so miles there are really fine bike tours of the Santa Barbara County wine country--there are several very good wineries off the 101 west northwest of Santa Barbara.

My husband and I have never been to Santa Barbara (we live in Denver). We will be in town for 3 nights with our dog.
Can you suggest any really good places we should try (not fine dining)? We would prefer restaurants which have pet friendly patios but...
