If your bank account would be verified, and you had financial aid money sitting to one's account.
I expect they'd just ask for copies of your bank statements for checking, savings, and bank-held the "other" category.

Sort of related, but I went to a ING Direct location, asked if I could link a People's Choice Savings account with ING with those PT cheques, and they said it was okay as long as I write my address and name on the cheque and write my ING account number...
